Darren was a great servant to the club, played with his heart on his sleeve and was a fantastic example of a box-to-box player.

He wasnt given a good enough run in the side, and i believe that he would have been one of the best young talents in the country had we given him more of a chance.

Blues fans ask for committed players to the cause, that show loyalty. Thats DC all over, not like Seb is doing now.....demanding 30k a week. For what???? Hitting a good free kick?

sad to say carter went from a young keen boy to an ego mad superstar partly because of his god like status after a spot kick which we all owe him so much. that kick also signalled the end of his blues career with him putting himself out of a job. west brom beckoned and it was local enough to hang around brum where he was given god like status.

if he walked past my house right now id go out and thank him ,,,again.

i dont know why football players try to distance themselves from fans and come over all diva ish,,,, but they do.

the best i ever came across was steve kelly, true gent.

One word, emotional.

On second viewings of that picture - could they not find a shirt that was a bit smaller for him than that?

The lad always gave 110% but he was never a prem player to be honest, i know the fans at his present club think he is garbage but I really think Southampton could be just the type of club the lad needs, worth a punt.

Nice lad Darren,
But he was just another in a long line who we just not good enough for the top flight,
Best of luck to him though.
